PARAVIEW AND POCKET BOOKS TO DEVELOP
JOINT PUBLISHING PROGRAM |
|
|
New York, NY-Paraview.com, an innovative
publisher of original print-on-demand books and
Pocket Books, a publishing imprint of Simon &
Schuster today announced the creation of Paraview
Pocket Books, a new publishing venture to launch in the
Spring of 2003. The books will target a rapidly
increasing audience with a passion for body, mind,
spirit and the frontiers of science and culture. Under
this new publishing program, Paraview Pocket Books will
publish a number of new titles each year. The
partnership will build on the unique capabilities of
Paraview to source and anticipate new trends, themes and
authors; and the ability of Pocket Books to produce and
distribute books to readers throughout the world.
Under the agreement, Paraview Pocket Books will be
published in trade and mass-market paperback, in audio
on cassette and compact disc, and in eBook editions. The
first book published under the new imprint will be
The Seventh Sense: The Secrets of Remote Viewing as Told
by a Psychic Spy for the U.S. Military, by Lyn
Buchanan.
"We are delighted and excited by this partnership with
Pocket Books. Given Pocket Books' experience in
publishing for mass-market audiences and Simon &
Schuster's global publishing reach, we believe Paraview
Pocket Books has all the ingredients of becoming a truly
successful venture, "said Alexander Dake, CEO of
Paraview.com. "This partnership is an important
milestone in extending the ability of Paraview.com to
provide valuable content to increasingly larger
audiences around the world."
Co-publishers of Paraview Pocket Books will be Louise
Burke, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Pocket
Books and Paraview's founder Sandra Martin, who is also
Senior Vice President, Content, at Wisdom Media. The new
list will be edited by Patrick Huyghe, Editor-in-Chief
of Paraview.
"In my career as a literary agent and a television
producer, my goal has been to disseminate information on
consciousness, spirituality and our innate extraordinary
abilities, and with our new publishing imprint with
Simon and Schuster, I see this as an exciting step onto
a larger playing field," observed Ms. Martin.
Adds Burke, "Our alliance with Paraview brings a dynamic
new publishing program to the Pocket Books list, which
we are all truly excited about. We look forward to a
long and successful union with them."
