ABOUT THE
BOOK
IT'S NOT JUST SEX. IT'S NOT JUST LOVE. IT'S SOMETHING MORE....
But what could be better than sex? How about lovemaking that sweeps people into
new realities, producing altered states of consciousness a thousand times more
powerful than the most earth-shattering orgasm? Lovemaking so spectacular that
it truly is a religious experience?
Transcendent Sex is not about the "Tantric method." It is about the
best-kept secret in human history: that ordinary people, with no special
training, can find themselves in different spiritual realms when making love --
an experience so profound that nothing will ever be the same. It is about sex
that triggers episodes identical to the highest spiritual states -- as described
in the annals of shamanism, yoga, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam --
including visions, channeling, reliving past lives, transcending the laws of
physics, and seeing the face of God.
This revealing book tells of lovers who engaged in sex as usual and suddenly
found the veil between the worlds torn open. Transcendent Sex, like any
other spiritual awakening, changes lives. Atheists have become believers;
long-standing psychological wounds have been healed; and the sexually abused
have become whole. These are the inspiring, incredible true stories of people
who experienced an ecstasy and fulfillment beyond the borders of this world. |

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT TRANSCENDENT SEX |
|
“This may sound like a sex manual, but it’s actually a study of
“mystical, spiritual, or transcendent experiences during sex.” Wade...
interviewed 91 people who had such experiences spontaneously, including
heterosexuals, homosexuals, and bisexuals of different races and faiths, none
using psychotropic drugs or involved in erotic spiritual disciplines like Tantra.
She discusses common themes and patterns, positive and negative effects,
meaning, what such experiences don’t mean, and how such experiences might
be facilitated. Wade is positive but cautionary about transcendent sex, seeing
it as potentially wonderful and meaningful but not associated necessarily with
wonderful and “ideal” partners or relationships. This is an understudied and
unknown area -- indeed, many of her interviewees had no context for their
experience, found it confusing, and never told anyone before. Full references
and an appendix about study methods and results add value.
Highly recommended to collections in religion, spirituality, and sexuality.” --
Library Journal
“With elegant precision and research, Jenny Wade shows us that sexual experience
can give you the realization that you are not a person squeezed into the volume
of a body or the span of a lifetime. Transcendent Sex is a glimpse into
the nature of your immortal divine being. Read, enjoy and be liberated.” --
Deepak Chopra, author of How to Know God
“Transcendent Sex is absolutely enthralling and completely captivating.
Author Jenny Wade has written an essential guide to understanding the spiritual
component of sexuality. [Transcendent Sex] is a must for any one in
pursuit of a deeper grasp of their sexual self.” -- Caroline M. Myss, author of
Sacred Contracts and Anatomy of the Spirit
“What Raymond Moody did for our understanding of death, Jenny Wade has done for
sex -- namely, to show how sexual encounters between ordinary people can vault
them into the realm of the transcendent, unleash powerful forces of spiritual
transformation and ultimately lead to God-consciousness itself. A
heaven-breaking book.” -- Kenneth Ring, Ph.D., author of Heading Toward Omega
and Lessons from the Light
“Sexual experiences are often among the most powerful in our lives. We can be
blessed or haunted by the unbidden spiritual openings provided by lovemaking.
These sudden awakenings can inspire committed training in the sexual arts --
much like a musician practices to sustain his or her original inspiration -- or
else the initial experience tends to fade into a wistful memory. Jenny Wade’s
research and writing reveal where we each can catch a glimpse of our potential.
[TRANSCENDENT SEX] is a poetic compendium of the passing revelations
afforded by breakthrough moments during everyday sex.” -- David Deida, author of
The Way of the Superior Man and Finding God through Sex
“According to Eastern esoteric traditions, sex is not just a powerful biological
drive, but an expression of cosmic creative energy that harbors great spiritual
potential. Dr. Wade’s pioneering study of a large group of individuals who had
profound transcendent experiences during sex brings important scientific support
for these claims. A fascinating and groundbreaking work!” -- Stanislav Grof,
M.D., author of Psychology of the Future and The Cosmic Game |
